MERCMAIL is simply not the same as mainstream spam control providers.

Others are often using various types of statistical analysis. To work optimally, they must accept and analyze all messages (run hundreds of thousands of tests on each message, add up the variable scores, and determine if certain thresholds are exceeded), then make a guess (based on some kind of past performance) as to whether or not the message is spam.

MERCMAIL uses simple protocol and policy tests ('yes' or 'no' results), allowing us to reject more spam before the message is sent, than competitors reject overall — all without any false positives.
